The format of civil record-keeping was not standardized until the mid-19th century. Prior to it, and even after standardization, the record-keeping format differed depending on the region. So in the following articles, I will try to give some level of insight into the different types of formats used. Keep in mind that this list is not meant in any way to be comprehensive, and errors are bound to happen. With that caveat away, let’s get rocking!
